In order to fully enjoy your traveling plans, you should know how to avoid carrying bed bugs with you when going back home.
Although for many years, no one has heard of them any more, now it seems that they have returned invading the spaces of hotel rooms, inns, motels at quite an alarming rate.
These bugs are not the result of dirt or poor household conditions, as many of you might think, as long as they more likely are found inside the rooms of prestigious hotels rather than the small motels and inns.
But regardless what is the place that becomes your accommodation for the duration of your travel, you should be aware of these bed bugs and not carry them back home with your luggage.
Some few things you need to know on them is that they are small flat bugs that are reddish-brown in color and they always come out from their hiding place at night in order to feed themselves on human blood.
For the rest of the day, they won't go out as they will stay dormant waiting for the night to come and feast from your blood while you sleep.
In case you will be hosted in commercial lodging of whatever sort it is, make sure that you inspect the room when checking in as in this way you can make sure that you will not carry the bed bugs home with you.
Upon this checking, you should not place your luggage on the bed or floor, but keep them somewhere standing and bring them in after the investigation is over.
Another thing that you must know is that bed bugs like to hide and live in the bed frames, headboards, furniture cracks, mattresses, cushions, pillows, and other things that can come in contact with human body.
When inspecting the cracks or narrow spaces, use a flashlight as to the light, these creatures get scared and begin fussing, being much easier to spot.
The marks they leave behind are their old skin and shell, dried excrements and even blood stains that are of a brownish color.
You should also not unpack your things and rather leave them in the suitcase as in this way you can make certain that they won't crawl into them flying them back home with you.
In case you discover any of these signs in your room, notify the hotel management and do not remain in the room if this problem really exists.
If you feel like not requesting another room for fear all the facility is infested, then reach for other lodging version for being sure that you won't face another blood sucking pests problem.
Coming back from your trip, do a thorough check of your luggage, look for the inside and outside of the suitcase especially the spots that can turn into a great hiding place for these bed bugs.
Do not forget also to check your shoes and your alarm clock as these too can constitute hot places for a bed bug hide out.
